Library News

During the past few months we have received several welcome donations. Al Selves has given us 75 books from his late wife Traudl's library. Nancy Alvord has donated 65 books from her library. Heather and Bill Russell have also donated several books.

Some of our newly-acquired titles are:

  • David Rosen, Transforming Depression, A Jungian Approach to the Creative Arts
  • Jean Shinoda Bolen, Close to the Bone
  • Lawrence Jaffe, Liberating the Heart
  • C.G. Jung, Psychology of the Transference
  • C.G. Jung, Integration of Personality
  • Mary Ann Mattoon, Applied Dream Analysis
  • Robert Johnson, Lying with the Heavenly Woman
  • John Sanford, The Strange Trial of Mr. Hyde
  • Several titles from our collection are missing. Among them are:

  • Mary Ann Atwood, Suggestive Inquiry into Hermetic Mystery
  • Robert Hopke, Men's Dreaming, Men's Healing
  • Mario Jacoby, Analytic Encounter; Transference
  • C.G. Jung, Critique of Psychoanalysis; also, Vol. 19 of his Collected Works
  • Karl Kerenyi, Apollo, The Wind, the Spirit, and the God

  • If you are in possession of a book that belongs to the Jung Society library, please return it before we commit the time and funds to replacing it.

We need more volunteers in order for the library to be open on a dependable basis. We hope that some of you will be able to make this commitment. In addition to doing a few library chores, library volunteers are able to sit and read, brew a cup of tea, look at the great view of Meridian Park from our window, and listen to our tapes. Volunteers have the first opportunities to check out new materials. As an added incentive, all committed volunteers receive reduced admission to Jung Society events. If you would like to volunteer, please call our office.

All books, cassette tapes, and periodicals are available on loan to members.

Please feel free to donate books or other reference materials to our library. Occasionally we receive some duplicates; we may offer these for sale to our members at a later date.

For information about the library location and its new hours, see the Library Hours page.
