From the Jung Society President
A new vitality imbues the Jung Society this fall, and it is apparent in our noteworthy lectures and lively discussions. The attendance of new and returning members reflects an enthusiastic response to the theme of Jung and Religion. We extend our appreciation to our members for their support.
The Board welcomes three new members:
- Judith Capili oversees the Jung Society Library. Judith is a registered psychotherapist in private practice and a part-time bookkeeper for the Sufi Order. She became acquainted with Jung through her studies at Antioch, the University of Washington, and the Sufi Order.
- Golda Posey joins Peter Elting as co-chair of the Program committee. Golda is a consultant in private practice. Her background is in nursing and business. She is especially interested in Jung's psychological types and various instruments that stem from Jung's theory, such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Singer-Loomis Type Deployment Inventory. She founded and is president of the Association for Psychological Type of Western Washington.
- John Krausser is retired from a career in data processing management. He first encountered Jung's work as a student in a Presbyterian seminary more than thirty years ago. Increased reading after retirement rekindled what has become a very keen interest in Jungian thought. Besides his work with the Jung Society, John spends volunteer time working on political issues for the Sierra Club and serves on the board of SCI/IVS, an international peace organization. The Board is delighted with John's active role as membership chair and his efforts to increase the Society's membership.
Another new volunteer is Steve Russell, who oversees sound and recording for lectures. Steve works for Heartland Real Estate as a graphics coordinator.
Special congratulations to David Steinmetz, the Jung Society's webmaster. David and his wife, Mayumi, are parents to a new baby daughter, Misa Marie.
