Library News

We were surprised and delighted to receive a wonderful donation of books from Birdie Adams in October. Ms. Adams, a past member, said she had some extra Jungian books that she thought we might like to have. This amounted to 169 books! Many are Jungian classics that round out our library collection; through this donation our library now has 63 of the 80 titles published by Inner City Books.

We also received 68 books from the estate of Alward Selves thank to the efforts of Diane Bogue. Thank you, Birdie and Diane, for thinking of the Society library.

Recent purchases include John Beebe's book Integrity in Depth, and Jung's book, Aspects of the Masculine, with an introduction by John Beebe. We also have The Cambridge Companion to Jung, edited by Polly Young-Eisendrath and Terence Dawson, an anthology of critical essays concerning Jung and theories of contemporary psychology.

We would like to thank the fall volunteers, Connie Eichenlaub, Lucretia Devine, Arlene Nicki Hagoski, Kitty Eppard and Fern Durand for staffing the library on Saturday afternoons, and Linda Shaeffer for her work on Wednesdays. We expect to have some more weekday afternoon library hours in January and February. Hours will be listed on our voice mail.

Our bookcase fund drive has gotten off to a healthy start, and we have raised roughly half the amount we need. Once again, we encourage our members to donate to this fund. Suggested donation is $6.

We have lots of used books available for purchase any time the library is open. Proceeds from the sale of these books go toward the purchase of new bookcases for our library. Please come by and buy!
