A Warning to all!

And to all a warning...

Object fixation and landing a glider do not mix. Spot landing? Try spot SLAMMING.

I gave myself a "Whackdown."

After one day later, my right foot looked like this.

.And I had to wear this contraption for a couple months.

Then the physical therapy began to start. Stretch 1..2, SCREAM 1..2, stretch 1..2, whine 1..2..........

All I wanted was 1,000 points for landing on the center circle. Did I do it? Not quite. I did land in the second circle but was disqualified when I hurt myself. I forfeited my points. It sounded like I stepped in a bowl of Rice-Crispies when I hit the ground, rolled my ankle and ripped a tendon.  I admit I was being a little aggressive, I wanted the spot landing more then a landing. I came in to the field a little too fast. I still had my foot a little tangled in the speed-bar, and decided it was not enough of an impediment to bother to untangle my boot. I was wrong. I ended up putting my foot down at a slight angle while going a pretty good speed. I also flared the glider late or I would have landed too short of the spot landing circles.
