Bring your own group - fully crewed charters

Is the whole point of planning a sailing vacation for you and your friends/family to get involved...to be able to sail the boat yourself (or learn how!) - where you're not just a passenger to be sailed wherever at the captain's whim, but to be part of an active, dynamic and FUN team spirit ?  Then you're on the right page here!

For Ye Olde Salts...

Our skippered charters offer the chance for you to kick back, and have a relaxing vacation too! The guys and gals in our crew have all sailed in these waters for several years and know all the local idiosyncrasies (and the idiosyncratic locals!).  We do get plenty of experienced sailors who choose this option, knowing how much less of hassle it is to have local knowledge on board!  None of our skippers have any "meglomania issues", we're very happy to sit back, and hand over the helm to you whenever you like! :)  However, guess who gets to sit up all night doing anchor watch if necessary? - and knows instantly where else is better shelter, likely wind patterns, the best local options in any given situation.

For our newbie and/or wannabe sailors...

From "I'll just take a turn at the helm occasionally".... to "I want to be able to sail this ship all by myself by the end of the week!"  - we get the full range, and often all within one group ! :)  Any of the above are fine; we love it when people are keen to learn, or improve skills; if you're keener on sunbathing sometimes, that's fine too!

Our SeaScape skippers

Our SeaScape Team is an international pot pourri of English, Australian & American; all our skippers are one of the above.  On paper, we all have the requisite professional qualifications from the RYA, ASA or AYF; even more importantly, we have personal experience of sailing in these waters which ranges from 5yrs to 15yrs. We're all a very easy-going bunch, who enjoy becoming part of your group too.

One other very important point to make - our skippers are not just skippers. Sailing the boat is possibly the least of our skippers' brief!  They are there to ensure the total smooth running of your vacation, from keeping the boats stocked with food and drink that you like, to arranging trips ashore - or taking you along to meet their own local friends and really experience the behind-the-scenes culture! This is where we are quite different to the more common bareboat-with-skipper option, where the skipper's responsibility ends with getting the boat to/from port.
