Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space Company, Sunnyvale CA

1977 to Present

Technical Consultant/Space Systems Product Center: Participate in interdivisional team dedicated to development of a standard company-wide software process; as member of the Software Engineering Process Group, participated in all major software process improvement projects. Headed the group developing Automated Requirements Traceability System (ARTS) designed to provide complete traceability among multiple levels of requirements, design, implementation, and test. The system was utilized by Systems Engineering and software projects throughout the Lockheed Corporation as well as by associate contractors, subcontractors and customers.

Presently working as part of a team for achievement of ISO 9001 registration during 1996. Provide the full range of consulting services for development of proposals and implementation of projects in system engineering, software system engineering, software process and general software technology improvement. Certified ISO 9001 Internal Auditor.

Represent Lockheed Martin on the Technical Committees on System Engineering and Software Systems of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics with responsibility for support of technical activities for publications and conferences, standards development and review, and position papers.

Provide consultation and support in a range of technical areas including requirements analysis and top-level architecture definition; trade studies and performance analysis for systems engineering and software systems engineering; software process engineering, including determination, documentation and improvement of the software development process.

As a key contributor to the company’s software process improvement efforts, co-authored software policies, chaired the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) and software process assessments, prepared for customer software process evaluations, wrote software process improvement plans and supported projects in establishing and meeting process improvement goals. Made key contributions to proposals in software planning, systems engineering, software systems engineering and internal review teams.

Represented a Lockheed division on the corporate Software Process Task Force for coordination of software process activities throughout the Lockheed Corporation, including training, process assets and assimilation of lessons learned. As a division representative on the Lockheed Martin Software Subcouncil, served to assist in the exchange of lessons learned and work toward development of a common process and selection of standard tools company-wide. Served as vice chairman of the Embedded Computer Software Committee of the Aerospace Industries Association representing Lockheed Corporation, working with the Department of Defense on development and review of military standards.
