The Great Unknowns
Great music by unknown composers . . . some unknown masterpieces by
well-known composers. Music of Joseph Boulogne,
Le Chevalier de Saint-George (the "Black Mozart"),
Ignatio Sancho (an African born into slavery who became
a free man and composer in England), the mysterious
Giovanni Antonio Pandolfi Meali,
Jean-Daniel Braun,
Isabella Leonarda, and others.
The Baroque Northwest Quartet is joined by special
guests violinist Paul Luchkow
of Vancouver's Burney Ensemble,
and violist da gamba
Kathryn Smith Derksen.
