The leaf curl-resistant Frost peach thrives west of the Cascades, and should do well in similar climates of the British Isles, New Zealand, and Tasmania. The Avalon peach is a good companion, also resistant, with fruit several weeks earlier.

Besides late summer fruit and color, peach trees give the otherwise sunny herb garden a patch of shade.
