This beautiful mid-sized rhododendron is quite different from the large blue ponticum hybrids such as A. Bedford, Anah Kruschke, Blue Ensign, and Blue Peter. It tolerates full sun and cold to well below zero. Chionoides becomes quite spindly in shade.
