Above is an Eastern White Pine, brought as a seedling in a suitcase on a Greyhound bus from Bob and Betty's Summit, New Jersey garden to their Enumclaw, Washington garden. It survived for forty-five years, but died in 2004. We are going to leave it standing for the woodpeckers. Here is the pine now.
