Keven Matthews dumps a load of gravel for the path through the new azalea garden. Volunteers dug the path and spread the gravel.

Jake discusses a new trail through the rhododendron garden with Aaron Cady of Metro Parks staff. The Park District has been very supportive of the Tacoma ARS Chapter work.
For its part, our ARS chapter has donated hundreds of plants, thousands of hours of labor, and in 1978 constructed a large shelter in the rhododendron garden for park visitors to use. We also donated $500 for the sign and $2000 for general maintenance.
