Elliott Bay Trail--Zig-Zag Bridge
Elliott Bay Trail
The start to the Elliott Bay Trail North is one of the most unique in all cycling.  It is a zig-zag ramp with 180 degree turns, and then launches you onto a bridge to an overpass.
The overpass spirals you down to the trail.
The north Elliott Bay Trail, in contrast to the waterfront south, takes you through the heart of an industrial area.  It gets narrow in places.
Another zig-zag
Here's your chance to get up close and personal with an oil train.
There have been no oil train derailments here since 2014.  Fortunately, this one didn't explode.
A beautiful little park is located on the water at Smith Cove, near the cruise ship terminal.
The route is confusing at times.  It is difficult to tell that this is a trail.
Better signage would help.  Follow the red arrow to stay on the trail.
Rope sculpture lends a nautical theme as you return to the overpass,
and the offramp.
