U-S black activist ready to fight deportation attempt Tuesday 8 July, 1997 (10:37am AEST) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ American black activist, Lornzo Ervin, says he will fight to stay in Australia, if immigration authorities try to deport him. The former Black Panther, who is currently touring the country, has been called to meet Immigration Department officials in Brisbane this afternoon. Mr Ervin denies suggestions he's using false travel documents, and says he has nothing to hide. He says he will co-operate with immigration authorities, and expects to be grilled on his reasons for being in Australia. Mr Ervin says if the Australian Government tries deport him, he will fight the action in the courts.
