US activist given another time extension by Immigration Thursday 17 July, 1997 (6:25pm AEST) ______________________________________________________________ The Immigration Department has granted a US activist another extension of time to answer questions about his character. The status of Lorenzo Ervin's Australian visa will depend on the answers he provides. Mr Ervin's Brisbane lawyer, Terry Fisher, says they have until midday on Monday to respond to the questions. Mr Fisher says the Immigration Department has considerably reduced the areas which it wishes to question Mr Ervin about. However, Mr Fisher says he doubts whether documentation supporting his client's good character will arrive from the United States in time to meet the Monday deadline.
