Kaiser hospital in San Fransisco has just put together an "educational"
circumcision video for doctor's. The video will feature a circumcision in
which a Dorsal Penile Nerve Block is used. The video shows an infant
sleeping through a circumcision. Let them know that whether or not
anesthesia is used, the forced amputation of a healthy part of an infant's
or child's genitals witout his consent, is unethical and violates his
human rights. Kaiser is presently seeking a distributer for this video.

If there are doctor's, researchers, instituitions that you feel play a
role in promoting genital mutilation you can now denounce them to the Ad
Hoc Working Group of International Experts on Genital Mutilation, at INT'L
VGM, a non for profit project of Ecumenics International. In one instance,
Saint Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe, in order to counteract the nurses
had chosen to produce a "pros" and cons pamphlet on circumcision. The
nurses wrote to the Working Group and denounced the hospital for promoting
genital mutilation. The Working Group then made an official denunciation
to the hospital which will be shown to the United Nations. These letters
mention that North American traditional gential mutilation breaches 18
internationally recognized documents of the U.N. and violates no less that
26 human rights' premises. St. Vincent's consequently shelved the project.
