• September 1992 to date. Secretary Senior/Information Services Coordinator, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Washington. Provide technical secretarial support to faculty, preparation of technical manuscripts, with simple illustrations as needed; prepare departmental newsletters and brochures; aid faculty and staff in installation and maintenance of Apple Macintosh computers; administer faculty recruiting efforts. August 1994-November 1996: Act as departmental webmaster (<http://www.ee.washington.edu>) and electronic mailing-list coordinator. Prepare and/or convert documents to hypertext, prepare and/or convert graphics for use, train and advise faculty, staff and students in use of HTML, write PERL scripts for CGI forms; acquire, evaluate and install utility software on webserver as necessary; install and maintain Majordomo for electronic mailing-list service. February 1997- Departmental Advising Office: maintain and improve student and applicant databases in Access, prepare and maintain advising web pages, support graduate program as necessary.

• April 1992 to September 1992. Payroll Clerk (temporary), Department of Electrical Engineering. Interim payroll clerk for over 250 employees.

• January 1990 to April 1992. Program Coordinator, Intelligent Systems Laboratory, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Washington. Act as administrative, clearical, and computer assistant for a research laboratory of two full-time faculty members and 25 graduate students. Perform budgetary duties including tracking of expenditures, forecasts, and initial preparation of proposals; typeset technical manuscripts of up to book length using TeX; assist students, staff and faculty in using TeX; edit student and faculty manuscripts for grammar; act as Editorial Assistant for CVGIP: Image Understanding, perform archival duties on 20,000 item collection on computer vision; act as conference staff for a session of the 10th International Conference on Computer Vision, IEEE Workshop on Robust Computer Vision, and IEEE Workshop on Directions in Automated CAD-Based Vision; administer the ISL's Macintosh computers, including system maintenance and upgrade, recommendation and procurement of software, and provision of support to users; work with student systems manager to maintain network of Sun, IBM, and DEC workstations; aid departmental staff members in installation and use of Apple Macintoshes.

• February 1989 to January 1990. Word Processing Operator (Temporary), Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Washington. Duties included: typing of proposals, reports and academic materials, including equations, maintained departmental Apple Macintoshes, including back-up of data, system update and maintenance, virus prevention, recommendation of software purchases.

• January 1988 to January 1989. Teaching Assistant, Department of General Science, University of Hawaii. Responsible for teaching the laboratory sections of Introduction to General Physical Science, a survey course of physics and chemistry. Taught labs, graded lab work and exams from lecture section, answered student questions, rewrote lab handouts.

• August 1986 to January 1988. Teaching Assistant, Department of History, University of Hawaii. Led discussion sections of World Civilizations, required course for all undergraduates at University of Hawaii. Graded exams from lecture sections, answered student questions on course material.

Other Experience

• Director (1993-1995) and Vice-President (1996-7), Dragonflight. Non-profit corporation runs an annual 700 person convention and a club facility open daily. Also acted as Publications Manager producing convention programs, flyers, signage and newsletters as needed.

• Internet Services Coordinator for The Gamers, Inc. Maintain official web site <http://www.eskimo.com/~graham/the-gamers.html>, including conversion of files to HTML or appropriate graphics format, preparation and management of material for FTP retrieval, management of electronic mailing lists (600+ subscribers) using Majordomo and Smartlist, including archiving for retrieval via the WWW.

• Moderator, soc.history.moderated (since April 1994), soc.history.war.world-war-ii (since September 1996) and rec.arts.movies.reviews (since July 1997).

• Editor, International Journal of Historical Studies, February 1988 to February 1989. Helped found journal, performed editorial duties, including selection and copy-editing of articles, supervised other editorial staff, wrote editorial copy, typeset and composed journal using desktop publishing programs on the Apple Macintosh.

• Radio Announcer, KRLX Radio, Carleton College, January 1983 to June 1986.

  Computer Experience:

  Apple Macintosh:

  Extensive experience on the Apple Macintosh including administration of machines running MacOS and A/UX and with a large variety of applications including Word, WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro, Illustrator, FreeHand, PageMaker, PhotoShop, eXodus, MacX, numerous Internet utility programs and other utility programs.

  Wintel computers:

  Experience with IBM-compatible machines and knowledge of MS-DOS, Windows 1.0, 3.0 and 95, and MS Office, including Access.

  Other platforms:

  Extensive experience on Sun and Hewlett-Packard workstations, both Unix CLI and X-Windows interface. Extensive experience with installation and support of TeX and LaTeX. Extensive experience with software and utilities for the World Wide Web. Familiarity with FrameMaker.

  Familiarity with BASIC, HTML, Pascal, and PERL.

  Foreign Languages Studied:

  Burmese (three years), German (three years) and Latin (two years).
