Puget Sound Antique Radio Association

Our next meeting will be September 17
The November Meeting Will Be Our Annual Contest

The Puget Sound Antique Radio Association (PSARA) has been meeting since 1973 when the nine charter members were drawn together by a love of old radios and met in each other's homes to exchange tips on repair and restoration.(Follow this link for a picture of an early meeting)

The Association was formally founded in November, 1976. Since those first meetings, the Association has grown to almost 200 members.

You are cordially invited to attend a meeting and bring your family or friends. About 35 to 50 members and guests usually attend, a group small enough for informality. Meetings begin at 12 noon on the third Sunday of each month (2nd Sunday in December). They open with a brief business session followed by a demonstration, talk, slide show, or other presentation by a member or guest speaker.

We meet in the Shoreline Historical Museum at 749 N 175th Street in Seattle. From I5, take Exit 176 and go west about one mile. Come early and enjoy our informal swap meet in the parking lot. Here members buy, sell, and trade radios, parts, and almost anything associated with radio and its history. It's also a time for getting acquainted and discussing hobby interests.

Membership includes a subscription to our monthly newsletter, the "Horn of Plenty". This booklet contains interesting stories and articles, wanted and for-sale listings, and information about our meetings and activities. These activities include an annual contest in which members display the finest radios from their collection and compete for awards, and an annual all day swap meet attended by people from throughout the northwest.

You are also invited to visit out permanent display of radios and related items and memorabilia from early wireless to the 1950's in the Shoreline Historical Museum. It's open on meeting days and during the Museum's regular hours of 10 AM to 4 PM Tuesday through Saturday.
