Puget Sound Health Ministries was founded by Dr. Kenneth Bakken in
1993 as a parish nurse interest group of ten nurses. It is now a 501 ©
3 non-profit corporation. Affiliation with Pacific Lutheran University
allows one to complete the Basic Parish Nurse Preparation Course for
college credit or continued education units. Our purpose is to equip
persons to serve as parish health ministers in communities of faith.
The content of the course includes the standardized
curriculum developed through the International Parish
Nurse Resource Center.
