WELCOME to my personal homepage. This is a subdivison of BDS if you like, a small corner devoted to myself. Rather than have it be my main page, I have tucked it away here so its not in your face. Here you will find out a few things about me, my family, hobbies and whatever else can be used to define who I am. Some links here are "repeats" from other BDS pages, most are not. ____________________________________________________________________WHO AM I? Well my name is Andrew. I'm a single parent with one daughter named Tessa and one cat named Dini. Until recently I had 2 cats. I have been using computers since the early 80's, have run my own local BBS before, and been on teh internet since 1990 or so. I use the name Icebreaker or Atomicsox when chatting or posting on IRC and telnet enabled BBS systems. I love music, drawing, reading, playing outdoors, good food and good friends. I listen to all kinds of music, I collect comicbooks, I like movies and good books. I have a strange sense of humor that will be apparent if you peruse this website enough. I am the main character in the ongoing story that is my life. Its not as exciting as some, but its plenty exciting for me. Read further to know more, if you wish.

EDUCATION... I went to several schools, starting with Silver Lake Elementary School for grades K-5, Then to Eisenhower Middle School for grades 6-8, then on to Cascade High School for grades 9-12, graduating with a 3.89 cumulative GPA. I furthered my education at Everett Community College And then went on to "the rat race" a/k/a the corporate working world!
I have used the online name of "Icebreaker" since around 1982, first on local BBS systems around Seattle and then on the Internet. Just for my own amusement here is a list of what came up looking for "Icebreaker" on a search engine (I weeded through the list, and removed my own website which was referenced 30+ times) Check it out Other Icebreakers On The Web?!?
THE NUMBER 23 has always been a fascination and an enigma to me. Early on I noticed it seemed to pop up more often than any other number. I was number 23 on my soccer team. In scouts I came in 2nd one year, and 3rd the next in the "pinewood derby" (wooden racecar races). My high school locker was number 23, and so forth. As I got older I noticed it appearing more and more places: TV, books, articles, commercials, movies, songs, and so on. Eventually I read about the Illuminati, The law of fives, and 23 as a discordian number and was even more freaked out. Heck my Wedding Anniversary was (I am divorced now) August 23rd! MIRANDA SURFACE STATION BBS... is a local Seattle area (Lynnwood) BBS was around for over 12 years. It was run by one of my best friends, Mike Smallwood, and I co-ran things as a sysop there since 1988. I regularly called from day one. It never exceeded 14.4k bps, it never really had a lot of file downloads, just lots of good conversation. It is currently down at this time (since October 1998) and may or may not return to active duty. The growth of the internet and aging of the original callers led to its slow demise.
