CSUN's Center on Disabilities Announces New Certificate Program in
Assistive Technology

California State University, Northridge's College of Extended

The Center on Disabilities has been a pioneer in the field of
assistive technology over the past dozen years. Center programs
include the largest conference of its kind on assistive technology,
"Technology and Persons with Disabilities," which draws more
than 2,500 participants, 110 exhibitors, and 300 speakers to Los
Angeles each year; other conferences on Virtual Reality and Voice
Input/Output; the creation of a Computer Access Lab for university
students with disabilities, and a number of training programs
including Leadership and Technology Management (under a contract
with the California Assistive Technology System/Department of
Rehabilitation), and training programs in assistive technology and
learning disabilities that were conducted throughout Region
IX: CA, AZ, NV, the Navajo Nation, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, and
American Samoa.

The Center on Disabilities is pleased to share its long experience
in leading the assistive technology field into this new, 100-hour
certificate program. It is to be offered as a two week training
program in San Francisco, July 13-25, 1997.
