Engine 621 Visits the Zorro Road

On a hot August day, Engine 621 drives to the top of Granite Mountain to assist in
restoration efforts on the Zorro Road with the Mountains to Sound Greenway folks.  (The name comes
from the ugly abandoned logging road that looks like someone slashed a giant Z across the mountain.)
Led by their fearless supervisor Jim, the crew's mission is to wet down the very steep,
narrow, and high road to keep things visible for a helicopter.

100 buckets were moved during the course of the day.  (Mt. Rainer peeking in the background.)

far, and he couldn't wait to squirt water.
