About us

Debra Loudin-McCann worked in music ministry for over twenty years prior to entering seminary in 1999. Her work has included children's choirs, adult choirs, handbell and instrumental ensembles and liturgical dance. She most recently served more than nine years as Director of Music Ministries at Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington, TX. Along with Kevin Keele, she developed and led workshops on music and worship planning in the synod and has served as worship planner and leader in several synod assemblies, conferences and the 2000 installation service for Bishop Kevin Kanouse.

Her educational background includes studies in music education from Huntington College in Indiana; the University of Texas Permian Basin; Houston Baptist University; Texas Christian University; and the Orff Institut in Salzburg, Austria. Debra has made three trips to Africa and several trips to Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean, which have informed her interest in global music. She enjoys writing and composing songs and hymn texts. Debra was ordained in 2006 and serves as Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Kevin Keele was Associate Director of Music at Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington, TX for nine years where he developed and directed a contemporary music ensemble of instrumentalists and vocalists. He has composed numerous festival hymn arrangements for organ, brass and other instruments. Kevin served as organist for the installation of Bishop Kevin Kanouse in 2000 and has participated in several synod assemblies and theological conferences as a worship leader and musician.

Born in Texas, Kevin earned his Associate degree in audio technology from Cedar Valley College, where he studied organ with Rebecca Stewart. He continued his organ study with Dr. Linton Powell at the University of Texas in Arlington, Texas, and earned his Bachelor's degree in 1993. In 2003, Kevin began the Master of Music program at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was awarded a full scholarship. He served as Assistant Organist for Cannon Chapel and graduated in May of 2005.
