MailMigration

MailMigration works with Mac OS X Mail 2 to migrate mailboxes and messages:
- form local mailboxes to an IMAP server, or
- from an IMAP server to local mailboxes, or
- from an IMAP server to another IMAP server.
It's also possible to only migrate the mailbox structure sans messages. This tool is especially useful when migrating to a different mail server.

Usage

There is only one window. It has a source and a destination section. In the source section select the account and mailboxes that are to be migrated. In the destination section select the account where mailboxes and message should be copied to. Messages are always copied, never moved.

Details for Destination:

Copy Messages every X seconds: It may be possible to overwhelm the destination when transferring messages too fast. Set this value to slow dow the process.

Selected Mailboxes/Messages: Use the update button to see a count of mailboxes and messages to be transferred.

Create Only Mailboxes: Only creates mailboxes, does not transfer any messages.

It is strongly suggested that this tool is tested on a small scale before transferring large number of mailboxes.

Note:
- The time it takes to transferring 2-3,000 messages is reasonable. Transfering 10,000 messages takes about three hours.
- Existing mailboxes will be used. It possible to unintentionally transfer messages into existing mailboxes. Make sure that you intent to really transfer the messages into existing mailboxes.
