MySQL Server Control

MySQL Server Control is a utility that allows you to start, stop, and restart MySQL server on the local host. It uses the mysql.server command to perform it's tasks.

Usage

The utility's interface consists of a two buttons and a checkbox:

Restart
This button is active when the MySQL server is running. Clicking on thies button adds the restart option to mysql.server command.

Stop or Start
This button stops or starts the MySQL server. Depending on the status of the server, clicking on this button adds the start or stop option to mysql.server command.

Omit Network Access
Use the omit network access checkbox to skip network access, depending on the state of the checkbox, --skip-networking is added to mysql.server command.

Preferences

The tool is configured by using the Preferences menu item. You can always have the utility check for the status of the MySQL server when thie utility launched and always omit network access when MySQL server is started.
