Objective

  I believe that it is very important to produce high quality work; therefore I am constantly improving my abilities. I am currently developing web applications using SQL databases and WebObjects while updating legacy FileMaker Pro databases. I also maintain my employer's Internet presence (web server, FTP site, and mail server).

1989-1993 Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York.
  Bachelor of Science: Information Management and Technology, with concentration on Telecommunications, August 1993. The School of Information Studies concentrates on teaching a mixture of traditional management as well as technical aspects of information management.

Employment History

2002-Present DynEd International, Inc., Burlingame, California.
  Systems Administrator: Intrumental in DynEd's development and deployment of the company's flag-ship Records Server software. World-wide installtion consists of five serves in China, two in Vietam, six in Turkey and six in the United States.
In addition maintain all Internet services such as http. ftp, vpn, etc. Develop web applications and maintain internal databases. Built company's first bug database, simplified public availability of product updates and documentation. Instrumental in moving company's servers and workstations to Apple's Xserves and Mac OS X.
1998-2001 Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Washington.
  Software Test Engineer: Took initiative to build web accessible test case database and established web based multi-lingual support documents for testers. A Major accomplishments was creation of a solution which showed test progress based on completed test cases.
Additional tasks include testing of Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0 and service packs. Work includes functionality and foreign language testing. Testing is done using Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 9x.
(First two years working as contract employee of Volt Computer Services and became full-time Microsoft employee in Feb. 2000).
1997-1998 Blue World Communications, Inc., Bellevue, Washington.
  System Administrator: Administration of LAN & Internet connectivity. Maintenance of several virtual web sites, mail and ftp servers, plus office workstations. Maintenance of mailing lists in excess of 2500 subscribers. UNIX administration.
Web servers were Mac OS based running WebSTAR, Lasso, and FileMaker Pro. Mailing list servers were Mac OS based running ListSTAR. Nightly backups were performed using Mac based Retrospect. Mail servers were Intel based running RedHat Linux.
1995-1997 StarNine Technologies, Berkeley, California. (Now part of 4D Inc.)
  QA/MIS Specialist: Testing all major company products including SMTP gateways (MailLink SMTP), LAN E-Mail systems (StarNine Mail), and web servers (WebSTAR). Support of office Mac OS workstations, application and hardware installations. Maintenance of several public HTML (web) documents. Development and maintenance of FileMaker Pro contacts and support databases as well as web accessible databases.
Technical Support Specialist: Telephone and E-mail Mac support for Internet applications such as WebSTAR web servers, list/email-on-demand servers (ListSTAR) and MailLink SMTP/UUCP E-mail gateways. Also provided recommendations on Internet connectivity solutions. Other major tasks include HTML authoring, common gateway interface (CGI) development for company web servers as well as quality assurance testing of new products.

  Network Engineer (Contract): Planing and construction of a multi-platform Ethernet network. Included support for high-end Xerox printers, Mac OS and Windows NT workstations with Novell file servers. Technical specialist to group members in networking and application support.

  Network Manager: Built and maintained multi-platform Ethernet network. Technical advisor for equipment/software purchases and project planning. Consultant for clientele on technical requirements of presentation software. Development of multi-platform on-screen presentations. Integrated multi-platform network for desktop publishing solutions.
1990-1993 Computing Services, Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York.
  VAX/VMS Consultant: Consulting for VAX/VMS mainframe user community. Solving problems, programming, and basic VMS use. Tasks also included assisting VAX users on migration to different computers.
Senior Consultant: Supported the university's end-users on Windows and Mac OS computers, as well as Sun UNIX, Digital VAX/VMS and IBM CMS/VM mainframes. Tasks included problem solving and basic services such as file translations and recoveries. Maintained a Mac OS file server to provide utility software for other consultants. Also developed a software protection and virus free computing environment. Designing a frequently-asked-question database involving development of a database software package.
Facilities Administrator: Maintained two Mac OS computer labs and one Windows computer lab. Tasks included basic maintenance and performing hardware/software diagnostics.
