Wooly Mammoth Ivory comes from the remote frozen northern regions of Siberia, Russia as well as Alaska where it has remained deeply buried and perfectly preserved in the permafrost for 10's of thousands of years! Wooly Mammoths are an extinct ancestor of the modern elephant and once roamed throughout North America and Siberia. The ancient native peoples of both regions hunted and followed the migration of Wooly Mammoths and depended upon them as a means of both food and shelter. Ancient peoples also utilized the ivory tusks for artistic expression, jewelry, musical instruments such as flutes and also tool making. It is believed that ivory tools were used in the flint knapping process to shape and form their flint tools and weapons! What a wonderful physical connection this rare and unique material provides to the ancient history, people and animals of the Paleolithic Period! Notice: Ancient Wooly Mammoth Ivory is NOT protected nor banned from sale or use under existing federal laws applicable to African Elephant Ivory and IS completely legal to buy, sale and use in the United States. For information on availability and pricing contact: Doc' at DocsR0cks@aol.com or call 325-784-6509.
