Story in Stone

by D.C. and Valerie Waldorf

This book was assembled to form a ready reference to the major chipped stone types and tool types of the Central and Southern U.S. It contains 208 types or type groups, illustrated with 727 beautiful pen and ink drawings. The drawings, drawn by Valerie Waldorf, are so precise and accurate that one can clearly see the variations in the types, the range in quality of the workmanship, the style of flaking, and in many cases the evolution or gradation of one type into another.

This guide was arranged to show inter-type comparisons while maintaining a fairly close chronological order. Text descriptions of each individual or group are found on the same page or opposing pages. Also included is a section describing over 50 lithic resources from which many of the points were made. All of the points shown are authentic and came from over 30 collections.

This book is; 240 pages, 8.5 by 11 inches, spiral bound with a full color cover.  Price $25.00. To order
