From Dicken's Oliver Twist and Lionel Bart's music comes the musical Oliver! Here I play Mr. Bumble, a bombastic and hypocritical opportunist, in this scene beseeching Widow Corney (Marilyn Teitge) for a tryst whilst the starving orphans in her orphanage are off thieving with the Artful Dodger.

This was my first role as a principal, in 1981, when I needed to wear pillows to give me girth. Today I wouldn't have to add so much padding!
