How do you like my new blog appearance?
I'm using this as a test-bed / learning tool to work out ideas on how I want to do the Eskimo North company website as far as general appearance and how to do specific things, like the drop-shadows around the Google ads and still have it blend properly with the background.
I am learning cascading style sheets and xhtml as well as image creation and manipulation and I'm discovering that a frustrating aspect is that web browsers don't react uniformly to xhtml and css just as they did not react uniformly to html 4, and all the incarnations that proceeded it, so one is left only with a subset of the specification that works properly that one can only arrive at through trial and error, mostly error. One of the founding principals in xhtml was that it would define the specifications strictly and concisely so these compatibility issues wound not exist.
