After Death Contacts In Dreams
One of my earliest friends that I knew in my early years of elementary school used to live just a few houses from the house I grew up in. Then he moved away and I didn't see him for many years, and then he moved back to a house about a mile from my home when we were in junior high school.
During high school he was involved in the pirate radio station I ran and we shared the same group of friends.
After high school he went into the Army. He was stationed in South Korea and worked on communications circuits. I would receive calls from him at all hours when he would be working on a circuit and call over it.
After a couple of years he was discharged for medical reasons because he had some problems that turned out to be caused by a grapefruit sized tumor in his chest which they said was inoperable.
They put him on an aggressive chemotherapy which had a chance at eliminating the tumor but also was known to have about a 20% chance of causing lymphoma (This in addition to the possibility of not entirely eliminating the tumor or metastasis). The tumor was eliminated and for a couple of years things seemed good.
The one day he stopped by my apartment and told me he had been diagnosed with lymphoma and it was thought that he had about two weeks to live so he was going on a trip to say goodbye to friends he had met while in the army.
Before he left though, he said he would try to contact me after death. He never returned from this trip alive.
For two years after his death I had recurring dreams where he would come to my apartment. I would answer the door and ask him how he could be here since he was dead. He would always say "Don't worry about it, just enjoy the time we have".
I would ask him what it was like where he was and he would say, "Don't worry about it, I'm OK, just enjoy the time we have".
Finally, about two years after his death he said something different to me in the dream, he said that he could not come back anymore. This was the very last time he ever appeared to me in a dream.
Over the years I've lost quite a few friends to death, several to cancer, two of them via suicide, another via an apartment fire, several via automobile accidents, and several to drug overdoses. None of the others ever told me they would try to contact me after death and none of them appeared to me in dreams.
