Holographic Rooms...

I had a strange dream today, not a long involved dream, just a short little snip it of a dream.

In the dream I was moving into a house and it was a building that was unfinished. Framing, external walls, ceiling was there, but otherwise rough, no internal walls except for supporting beams, no carpet, etc.

I had these four pole like devices I set in each corner of what was to be a room, flip a switch and instantly there was a room there complete with furnishings. It was like the Holodeck on Star Trek Next Generation, except it wouldn't make living characters, only inanimate objects, no sex goddesses or even a pet fish. It did make walls and carpeting and finished ceiling and a bed and a dresser and a closet and a night stand and lamp.

In the dream I thought, it's really cool that they invented these, not because you could make any stuff you wanted, save for the sex goddesses, but because it meant that so much of the earth's resources would be spared by not having to make all of that stuff, and all the pollution wouldn't be generated in the process.
