Volcanoes

Some of the warming in the arctic is related to volcanic activity, not heat captured by increased carbon dioxide levels, although the volcanic activity also contributes to carbon dioxide levels.

A neighbor who fishes commercially told me he measured ocean temperatures by Sitka at 61°F. Now, here in the Puget Sound waters tend to be between 36-38°F. How is it, if the heating of the ocean is just by sunlight, that a temperate region has much colder ocean temperatures than an arctic region?

There are other sources of heat. This article in New Scientists says that there are ten times more volcanoes under the ocean than we had previously believed. There count places the number at 201,055.

Another source of heat is currents that flow from pole to pole and through the atmosphere, the result of charged particles from the Sun spiraling around magnetic field lines. I am of the opinion that the amount of power transferred this way is substantially underestimated.

Quadradic Magnetic Gate

A while ago I had a dream that was set in the future and featured levitating technology. One device was an advertising platform. It was a rectangular box that had an array of LED's or some other light emitting device that resembled LED's on one side and levitated up in the air to serve as an advertising platform over public events. Something like the Goodyear blimp would do today except that instead of being a lighter than air vehicle it used some form of anti-gravity levitation.

In the dream, I got to see inside this device. It was basically an aluminum chassis that had these devices attached inside that looked like transformers only the core was not a normal configuration and there were four windings on the core that connected to some electronics that involved power transistors.

Tonight, I ran across a device on the Internet that looks exactly like the cores did in this dream except without the windings around them. The device is called a quadratic magnetic gate and is associated with "free energy" devices.

Used as it is in the videos on youtube, it only propels a fixed magnet down a tube and doesn't prove anything or do anything useful.

Smokers

I had this very strange dream last night in which smokers, that is to say people that smoke, what it involved is that they'd hold a lighter under their arm until their skin smoked and then they'd inhale the fumes, that's what smokers did.

Before I went to bed, Eddie was complaining about his hand burning (he'd done something to it playing video games and was putting it in iced water though there was no swelling or other visible signs of damage).

So that might have influenced my dream. At any rate; very weird.
