Green Crap at Alki Beach Seattle

Puget Sound is polluted with nutrients ranging from lawn fertilizer run-off, inadequately treated sewage, and agricultural effluent. The combined source of nutrients causes all this crap to grow in the water and then wash up on the beach. When I was a kid, 35-40 years ago, you could see through this water and the beach was sand not green crap. The only thing you'd see growing in it was occasional kelp (seaweed). I wish so much for the water and beach to be the way it was.
