This is what we're doing to children in Iraq. How much is oil worth? We've got 400 years worth of coal right here in the USA from which gasoline and diesel can be manufactured, they do it in South Africa. With about a 50% increase in coal mining we'd replace all of the oil we import and that capital would stay in this country instead of going to people in the middle east who hate us. Ideally we'd replace everything with renewables but it's going to take a 200-400 trillion dollar investment to do so.
