Hello again dear friends!

Although I have not completed a new book for some time I am still receiving requests for the title I am "presently working on". It is very heart-warming for me to know I still have such loyal readers. Many readers have been corresponding with me since the late seventies and write as if they are personally acquainted with the characters in a favourite volume. An author could not ask for more.

One lady continually sends me suggestions for methods I could use to continue writing. "Use a tape recorder and find someone to type up my notes."; "- write by hand"; "dictate to a secretary" etc. All viable ideas, but meanwhile for some odd reason I don't get any younger, and my energy isn't what it used to be.

So Muffin - my golden cat - and I plod along at a reduced speed, without my dear IBM Selectric typewriter, my word processing Zenith computer, or, most of all, my extensive research library. While I may come up short in those areas, I am nonetheless deeply grateful to my fans, to Nancy Eads who donates more time than she can spare to running the Fan Club, and to the readers who send me such encouraging and warm hearted letters.
