Chat on NewNet Right From This Site!

Thanks to DragonFlu, we now have the ability to give you the ability to chat right from the NewNet site.

This makes it much easier for beginners to get a taste of NewNet and to chat or seek help. It also makes it more convenient for some "advanced" users to access NewNet.

It's really simple - just enter a nick for yourself:

To Handle Any Problems With The Nick You Choose


If the nick you choose is already registered, you will see:

-NickServ- This nick is owned by someone else. Please choose another.
(If this is your nick, type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password.)
-NickServ- To add your current hostmask to your access list, type
/msg NickServ ACCESS ADD now.
-NickServ- If you do not change nicks within one minute, you will be
forced off the network.

when you get connected. You can solve the problem simply by typing:

/nick newnickname

If the nick you choose is being used by someone else, you will see:

*** name :Nickname is already in use.

If that happens, you can solve the problem simply by typing a new nickname at the "Nickname:" prompt.
