Sound bites:

Series that have run lately on the BBC: A third series of
"Ballykissangel", a second season of "The Adam and Joe Show", and a fifth
series of "Goodnight Sweetheart" (and here's an episode title for a
teaser: "When Two Worlds Collide").

New series on BBC2: "Alexei Sayle's Merry-Go-Round".

To promote the Japanese release of "Bean," Rover Japan is selling 200
Mini Mayfairs with black bonnets just like the one driven by Mr Bean.

Spike Milligan turned 80 in April.

"Mystery Science Theater 3000" was renewed for another 13-episodes on
the Sci-Fi Channel. The new episodes will start airing in the first
quarter of 1999.

Rumour has it that Chris Elliott will be the voice of Dilbert in the
upcoming UPN animated series.

Local news:

June 13th was KBTC's semi-annual EastEnders/Doctor Who/BritCom
fundraising marathon. "EastEnders" fell about $1500 short of its goal,
and "Dr. Who" just managed to skate by. The response was, um, grudging.
(One "Dr. Who" break garnered a whole three calls.) Thanks to everyone
who came down to answer phones. And let's not forget Anglicon's
presentation of $2000 from this year's convention.

Channel 9 has started running "Jonathan Creek" Thursdays at 9pm.

Subject: Lee and Herring Live!
From: rkj@eskimo.com

[This is more than a month old, but not outdated. And for those who
came in late, we sent Lee and Herring a photo of the group a couple of
years back. ...It's a long story.]

Jeff, on Sunday, Judy Lyen and Ryan K. Johnson saw "Fist of Fun" boys
Lee & Herring in their new live stage show, "The Richard Not Judy Show"
in London. Afterwards Ryan was able to speak to them and say we came
all the way from Seattle to see them. They remembered our photo and
were happy to "be able to put a face to the letter" now (even though I
said I wasn't Jeff). Very cool. So's the weather.
