Oil Can, v.

In the early days of SLUBA, Oil Can Boyd was thought to be a very good prospect - such a good prospect that he was signed to a 3 year (it was legal then!) long term contract. Unfortunately, Oil Can disappointed his SLUBA Boss greatly. After attempting to trade the Can for anything or anyone (but having no takers...), the Boss decided to eat Oil Can's remaining contract (paying double its value into the pot!) and dispense with the services of Oil Can Boyd. Now "Oil Can" is used as a verb when a player's long term contract is "bought out" by a SLUBA Boss.
