There was a period of
anticipation but it appears that the Vraka Men, aka
Stavros 5B4AFM/M0BBB, Marios 5B4WN/G0WWW, have suffered a
serious problem with their Vrakas and have not entered a
score. (I believe there was some kind of conflicting
station use that kept them off the air and waving their
Vrakas in frustration.) Having given them every
opportunity to send in the score, the official results
are hereby entered into the record of Contest History...
Overall winner - ON5ZO, The Belgian HF Devils (LP) -
610,200
US winner - N5DO, Poor Boys from Way West Texas - 592,059
Congrats to the Belgian HF Devils who ascend to
world-wide supremacy after two valiant efforts in 2003
and 2004! The Poor Boys from Way West Texas also
successfully defended their US championship in a repeat
win.
Should conditions have been better, I think team
Sleepless in Seattle might have made things hot for the
Poor Boys!

"My teammate (r) and the referee (l) sure enjoyed
the sunny weekend away from home very much! 73 de Pasi

The
repeat teams (M4A, OT4R, OK1NR) all increased their
scores significantly over 2003. Even though we had
lower sunspots this year, conditions were much better on
the high bands. Congratulations to the Vraka Men -
Reloaded for claiming the top spot over last year's
winner, OT4R. Whatever it is that they loaded into
their Vrakas must be powerful, indeed!
