Heh... I guess you didn't hear... The EA development staff was 'Locked Out' of the EA facilities due to the programmers salaries raising above the engineering budget. The owners of EA decided that they couldn't continue with the escalating salaries of those C programmers. The ownership is now in negotiations with the programmers union in an effort to get them back to doing what they do best... programming. The players, however, want a 'Bill Gates' exception, whereby they get 20% of the royalties of any game that is successful and 10% of any that isn't. Most analysts don't see an end in sight to this standoff, and fear that the damage may seep into other areas of the business...
