1981  Signed rookie Mark Aguirre to a 5 year, $2.1 million contract.

1999  The NBA fined Dallas $25,000 for salary cap violations.  The Mavs
      had given free agent to be Gary Trent and 5 members of his family an
      all-expense paid trip to Maui in what Don Nelson openly called a
      recruiting trip.

2009  Sacramento named Paul Westphal as head coach.  Westphal had been
      Dallas' executive vice president of basketball operations in 08-09 
      and an assistant coach in 07-08.
