1980  First training camp began.  At Royal Haven Baptist Church, 7 rookies
      and 7 veterans attended - it was the rookie camp; veterans did not
      have to report until 9/13/80.  The attendees were: (vets) Del
      Beshore, Winford Boynes, Marty Byrnes, Jim Spanarkel, Richard
      Washington, Raymond Townsend, Terry Duerod; (rookies) David Britton,
      Clarence Kea, Kenneth Williams, Tony Forch, Darrell Allums, Leroy
      Jackson, and Ralph Drollinger.

2002  Germany defeated New Zealand 117-95 in the Bronze Medal game of the 
      World Championship tournament.  Germany finished the tournament in 
      3rd place - by far the best ever finish for Germany in international
      competition.   Dirk Nowitzki had 29 points including 9-14 FG and 4-4
      3-pointers and 8 rebounds in 23 minutes.

2002  Dirk Nowitzki (Germany) was named as MVP of the World Championship
      tournament.  Nowitzki averaged 24 points and 8.2 rebounds.  He was
      also one of 5 players named to the All-Tournament team.

2003  Italy defeated Germany 86-84 in the elimination round for the
      European Championship for Men 2003 Tournament.  Germany did not
      advance to the next round.  Dirk Nowitzki had 22 points and 5 
      rebounds in 34 minutes.
