The NBA released the 2000-01 schedule. I've included the Mavs' schedule (including pre-season) below. The Mavs' complaining about the previous 2 season's terrible schedule paid off as 5 of the Mavs' first 6 games are at home. Though that is followed by a 6 game road trip. The free agency market opened on Tuesday and the Mavs have re-signed the 3 free agents they wanted to keep. They will likely use the $2.25 million exception later to try to catch some talent that slipped through the free agent market cracks. On Tuesday Dallas re-signed Hubert Davis to a 4 year, $10 million contract and re-signed Gary Trent to a 1 year, $2.4 million contract. Trent will obtain full Bird rights after this season and likely get a large contract next summer. On Saturday, Dallas re-signed Greg Buckner to a 2 year, $2.3 million contract. The Mavs have signed 3 of their 4 draft picks. Etan Thomas (#12) signed a 3 year, $4,479,120 contract with a 4th year at the team's option worth $2,200,942. Courtney Alexander (#13) signed a 3 year, $4,255,080 contract with a 4th year worth $2,168,193 at the team's option. Dallas signed Edurado Najera (#38) to a 1 year, minimum contract with a 2nd year at the team's option. Donnell Harvey still remains unsigned. All 4 did participate in the Mavs' summer games. Other older news: Dallas named Rolando Blackman as an assistant coach. Dallas released Rodrick Rhodes. Portland later claimed Rhodes off of the waiver wire. Mavs assistant Scott Roth left the Mavs for Vancouver as an assistant coach. Gar Heard was named as Atlanta's top assistant. Heard had joined the Mavs as an assistant March 15. The NBA fined Dallas $50,000 for violating league rules regarding the tryouts of draft prospects. The Mavs had prospects participate in 5-on-5 scrimmage. League rules do not allow teams to have more than 4 prospects on the court at the same time and prospects can not compete against veterans. patricia 2000-2001 Dallas Mavericks schedule All Times Central Fox = Fox Sports Net 49 = Channel 49 All games are broadcast on 570 am KLIF Pre-season October Tuesday Oct 10 Houston 7:00 Friday Oct 13 @ Phoenix 9:00 Sunday Oct 15 San Antonio 7:00 Tuesday Oct 17 @ Detroit 6:30 Wednesday Oct 18 @ Toronto 6:00 Friday Oct 20 Miami 7:00 Tuesday Oct 24 @ Denver 8:00 Thursday Oct 26 Utah 7:00 Regular Season October Tuesday Oct 31 Milwaukee 7:00 November Thursday Nov 2 Indiana 7:00 Saturday Nov 4 Utah 7:00 Monday Nov 6 @ Denver 8:00 Wednesday Nov 8 Vancouver 7:00 Friday Nov 10 San Antonio 7:00 Sunday Nov 12 @ Sacramento 8:00 Monday Nov 13 @ LA Clippers 9:30 Wednesday Nov 15 @ Phoenix 8:00 Friday Nov 17 @ Seattle 9:00 Saturday Nov 18 @ Vancouver 9:00 Monday Nov 20 @ Utah 8:00 Tuesday Nov 21 Seattle 7:00 Saturday Nov 25 Denver 7:00 Tuesday Nov 28 Toronto 7:00 TBS Thursday Nov 30 @ Portland 9:00 December Saturday Dec 2 @ Golden State 9:30 Sunday Dec 3 @ LA Lakers 8:30 Tuesday Dec 5 @ Houston 7:30 Wednesday Dec 6 New York 7:00 Friday Dec 8 Chicago 7:00 Sunday Dec 10 @ New Jersey 6:30 Tuesday Dec 12 @ Cleveland 6:30 Wednesday Dec 13 @ Indiana 6:00 Friday Dec 15 @ Philadelphia 6:00 Sunday Dec 17 @ Detroit 6:00 Monday Dec 18 @ Boston 6:00 Wednesday Dec 20 Portland 7:00 Friday Dec 22 LA Lakers 7:00 Tuesday Dec 26 Seattle 7:00 Thursday Dec 28 LA Clippers 7:00 Saturday Dec 30 Houston 2:00 January Wednesday Jan 3 Detroit 7:00 Friday Jan 5 @ Toronto 6:00 Saturday Jan 6 @ Washington 6:00 Monday Jan 8 @ Chicago 7:30 Wednesday Jan 10 @ Minnesota 7:00 Thursday Jan 11 @ Milwaukee 7:00 Saturday Jan 13 Phoenix 7:00 Monday Jan 15 Sacramento 2:00 Wednesday Jan 17 @ Charlotte 6:30 Thursday Jan 18 Orlando 7:00 Saturday Jan 20 Denver 7:00 Tuesday Jan 23 Philadelphia 7:00 Thursday Jan 25 Vancouver 7:00 Saturday Jan 27 @ Denver 8:00 February Thursday Feb 1 Miami 7:00 Saturday Feb 3 Golden State 7:00 Monday Feb 5 @ Atlanta 6:30 Wednesday Feb 7 @ New York 6:30 Sunday Feb 11 All Star Game @ Washington NBA Tuesday Feb 13 @ San Antonio 7:30 Thursday Feb 15 Cleveland 7:00 Saturday Feb 17 Washington 7:00 Tuesday Feb 20 LA Lakers 7:00 Thursday Feb 22 Boston 7:00 Saturday Feb 24 San Antonio 7:00 Monday Feb 26 @ LA Clippers 9:30 Tuesday Feb 27 @ Vancouver 9:30 March Saturday Mar 3 Houston 7:00 Monday Mar 5 @ Orlando 6:30 Wednesday Mar 7 @ Miami 6:30 Friday Mar 9 Golden State 7:00 Sunday Mar 11 LA Clippers 7:00 Tuesday Mar 13 New Jersey 7:00 Thursday Mar 15 Minnesota 7:00 Saturday Mar 17 Phoenix 7:00 Tuesday Mar 20 Portland 7:00 Wednesday Mar 21 @ Minnesota 7:00 Saturday Mar 24 Charlotte 7:00 Monday Mar 26 @ Utah 8:00 Wednesday Mar 28 @ Portland 9:00 Friday Mar 30 @ LA Lakers 9:30 April Sunday Apr 1 @ Sacramento 8:00 Tuesday Apr 3 @ Houston 7:30 Thursday Apr 5 Atlanta 7:00 Saturday Apr 7 Utah 7:00 Tuesday Apr 10 @ San Antonio 7:30 Wednesday Apr 11 @ Phoenix 9:00 Friday Apr 13 Sacramento 7:00 Sunday Apr 15 @ Seattle 8:00 Monday Apr 16 @ Golden State 9:30 Wednesday Apr 18 Minnesota 7:00
