Not too much news regarding the Mavs lately.  They held their team
orientation (aka mini-camp) September 9-11, but it received so little
media coverage it was pathetic - just a very small article on the 10th and
that was it.  The team had to stop calling it a mini-camp as the new CBA
does not allow mini-camps.  Jason Kidd and Chris Gatling did not attend
the voluntary camp due to prior commitments.  George McCloud was not
there on Monday, but no word as to why or if he showed up on Tuesday or
Wednesday.  The camp consisted of skills, drills, fundamentals, and lots
of running.  Training camp opens October 4.

Second 2nd round draft pick Darnell Robinson (#58) signed a contract with
Trieste of the Italian league.  The Mavs had encouraged Robinson to play
this season in Europe.

The Mavs hired Roger Hinds as the team trainer.  Hinds spent the past four
years as the conditioning coach and assistant trainer for Atlanta.
