The NBA named Baron Davis (Cha) as Player of the Week.  Davis averaged 12.5
points, 10.5 assists, and 8.8 rebounds as Charlotte went 4-0.
 
Jason Collier (Hou) will undergo arthroscopic surgery in his right knee to
repair torn cartilage and will be out 3 to 4 weeks.

New York signed Rick Brunson, released Jonathan Kerner, and placed Charlie
Ward on IR after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

Seattle fired head coach Paul Westphal.  Assistant Nate McMillan was named
as the interim coach.
 
Pete Carril (Sac assistant) will undergo heart bypass surgery.
