The NBA named John Stockton (Uta) and Karl Malone (Uta) as Players of the
Week.  Stockton averaged 15.3 points and 12.3 assists and Malone averaged
31.7 points and 9 rebounds as Utah went 3-0.

Boston placed Kenny Anderson on IR, released Greg Minor, and signed Rick
Brunson.  Anderson has a broken jaw and will be out 2 to 4 weeks.

Charlotte signed Jamal Mashburn to a 6 year, $53.5 million contract 
extension.

Darvin Ham (Mil) underwent surgery on his left foot and will be out 3 to 4
months.

Orlando placed Grant Hill on IR with a sore left ankle.
