News from May 14.

Geoff Petrie (Sac) was named Executive of the Year.  Petrie received 9 of
the 29 executive votes for the award.  Billy King (Phi) finished 2nd with
6 votes and Mark Cuban (Dal) finished 3rd with 4 votes.  [Still looking

The NBA suspended Michael Smith (Was) for one game (the first game of the
2001-02 regular season) for his guilty plee for driving while intoxicated.

Boston named Dick Harter as an assistant coach.

Alton Ford (freshman, Houston, center) declared himself eligible for the
NBA draft.  The NBA will release the official list of underclassmen who

and 5 turnovers.
David Robinson (SA) had 16 points including 6-10 FT, 14 rebounds, 5
assists, and 4 blocks.
Antonio Daniels (SA) had 19 points on 9-15 FG and 9 assists.
Avery Johnson (SA) had 10 points and 6 assists.
Dirk Nowitzki (Dal) had 42 points on 14-24 FG and 14-18 FT, 18 rebounds,
and 6 steals.
Juwan Howard (Dal) had 14 points including 5-16 FG and 12 rebounds.
Steve Nash (Dal) had 11 points.
SA shot 51.9% (42-81) FG and Dal shot 36.7% (33-90) FG.
Derek Anderson (SA, separated right shoulder) did not play.
San Antonio takes the series 4-1 and advances to the Conference Finals
where they will face the LA Lakers.
