Dallas elected to keep the #57 draft pick and, thus, Miami will receive
Dallas' 2004 2nd round draft pick as part of the 2001 Tim Hardaway trade.

Allan Houston (NY) underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to
remove loose cartilage and stimulate growth. 

Houston named Jeff Van Gundy as head coach.  Van Gundy rumoredly signed a
4 year, $18 million contract.  As compensation to New York, with whom Van 
Gundy still had another month of contract restriction from the contract he
was under when he quit as New York's head coach, Houston sent a 2nd round 
draft pick to New York.

New Orleans exercised their 03-04 option on Robert Traylor.

The expansion team Charlotte announced that their nickname will be Bobcats.
Charlotte will join the league in 04-05.
