News from August 15.

Correction, New Jersey signed Rodney Rogers to a 3 year, $9.3 million 
contract, not Philadelphia.  [thanks to all who sent notes about this
error]

Utah signed Matt Harpring to a 4 year, $18.5 million contract.

Miami signed Luke Recker to a 1 year contract.

Orlando reached a $1.5 million buyout agreement with Patrick Ewing for the
final year (worth $2.33 million) of his contract.  Ewing is now a free
agent.

Steve Nash (Dal) announced that he will not play for Team Canada in the
World Championship games due to a lack of mental and physical readiness.
Dallas owner Mark Cuban has been very vocal about the lack of adequate
insurance for NBA players playing in the tournament and that likely
influenced Nash's decision not to play.  [Michael Finley (Dal, USA), Raef
LaFrentz (Dal, USA), and Dirk Nowitzki (Dal, Germany - who got extra 
insurance due to having a prior injury) will play in the tournament.  
Shawn Bradley (Dal, Germany) will likely not play as Germany has not 
taken out a needed insurance policy for him to play.]
