News from December 15.

The NBA named Predrag Stojakovic (Sac) and Paul Pierce (Bos) as Players of
the Week.  Stojakovic averaged 28.7 points and 5 rebounds as Sacramento 
went 3-0.  Pierce averaged 31 points and 9.5 rebound as Boston went 4-0.

TRADE: Cleveland traded Ricky Davis, Chris Mihm, Michael Stewart, and a
2nd round draft pick (the pick they got from Boston in an earlier trade)
to Boston for Eric Williams, Tony Battie, and Kedrick Brown.  None of the
traded players played in Monday's games.

TRADE: Chicago traded Roger Mason Jr. to Toronto for Rick Brunson.

Boston retired Cedric Maxwell's #31.

Raef LaFrentz (Bos) underwent surgery on his right knee and is expected to
be out for the rest of the season.
